Remembrance Day Profile Picture Frames
Every November, profile pictures start turning red. A poppy here, a “Lest We Forget” there, until your whole feed is quietly saying the same thing: we haven’t forgotten.
If you want to add your voice, a profile picture frame is the simplest way to do it. Below are 14 Remembrance Day frames, from the classic poppy wreath to one that tells a story most people have never heard. Pick the one that feels right, click Use this frame, add your photo in our frame studio, and you’re done in under a minute.
Why 11 November, and why the poppy
Remembrance Day is on 11 November because that is the day the First World War ended. The Armistice took effect at 11am on 11 November 1918, and that is why people still fall silent at 11 o’clock. In 2026, Remembrance Day falls on Wednesday 11 November, and Remembrance Sunday in the UK is on 8 November.
The poppy came from the battlefields themselves. Red poppies were among the first flowers to grow back in the torn-up fields of France and Belgium. A Canadian doctor, John McCrae, wrote about them in his 1915 poem “In Flanders Fields”, and the flower has stood for the fallen ever since.
Today the day honours everyone who died serving in the armed forces, not only in the First World War. It is marked in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and across the Commonwealth.
Remembrance Day profile picture frames
Every frame keeps the middle clear for your face, since Facebook shows profile pictures as a circle. All the detail sits around the edges.

How to add a frame to your profile picture
It takes about a minute in our frame studio.
- Pick a frame above and click Use this frame.
- Upload your photo. A clear, front-facing picture works best.
- Drag and zoom until your face sits nicely in the middle of the frame.
- Download your framed picture.
- On Facebook, go to your profile, tap your profile picture and upload the framed photo.
When you upload it, look for the Make temporary option. Set it to switch back after 11 November and Facebook will change your picture back on its own.
Tips for a frame that looks right
- Keep your face in the middle. Facebook crops profile pictures into a circle, so anything near the corners gets cut off.
- Match the frame to the photo. Busy frames like the wreath or poppy field look best on a plain background. If your photo is busy, go for something quiet like A Single Poppy.
- Mind the light. Darker frames such as Falling Petals, the Candle or The 11th Hour suit photos with soft, warm light.
- Go black and white for the sepia frame. Only the red poppy should carry colour.
- Say who you are remembering. A name or one honest line in the caption means more than a long post. Add #LestWeForget or #RemembranceDay so others can find it.
- Put it up early. Many people change their picture at the start of November and keep it until 11 November.
FAQ
When is Remembrance Day 2026?
Wednesday 11 November 2026. In the UK, Remembrance Sunday is on 8 November 2026.
What does “Lest We Forget” mean?
It means “so that we do not forget”. The phrase comes from Rudyard Kipling’s 1897 poem “Recessional” and later became the words carved on war memorials around the world.
Can I use a poppy frame if no one in my family served?
Yes. Remembrance Day is about everyone who served and died, not only your own family. Anyone can wear a poppy or add a frame.
Is Remembrance Day the same as Veterans Day?
They fall on the same date. Remembrance Day, marked across the Commonwealth, mainly remembers those who died in war. Veterans Day in the US honours everyone who has served, living or dead.
Can I use these frames on Instagram or WhatsApp?

How long should I keep the frame on?
Most people keep it up until 11 November. Use Facebook’s Make temporary option and it will switch back by itself.
